Speights "Win your body weight in Gold" Promotion
Speights briefed Bright Sparks to submit a promotion that would embrace the brand values of the beer from the south.
The Speights brand at this stage was being
promoted as a national brand, but never losing its
Southern identity of mateship. It was primarily focussed
at bulk pack sales.
Looking back at the history of the brand, threw up
opportunities related to the central Otago region and
its Gold Rush era. Working off this link, Bright Sparks
created the “Win Your Body Weight in Gold” promotion.
The promotion was used in liquor outlets throughout
New Zealand.
The final prize was the winner would get
his / her body weight back in $1 gold coins. No soggy wet
Swanndris were allowed at the weigh in!
Bright Sparks designed, created and supplied all
promotional materials including point of sale. Old style
mine fronts were erected with stone like imagery printed
on large scale corflute boarding. This included hang on
lanterns, gold pans and an encouraging “good on yer
mate" slogan. A voice trigger was used in selected outlets
– these detected
movement as a buyer
reached into pick up a
pack.
This promotion was a
success lead into pre
Xmas activity.
